"Hi the Campaigners,
Thank you for the answers to Kevin’s questions.
I am interested to see that you want to keep some of your panel members anonymous. One of the items you are asking about is transparency, within the Council, which you are obviously not doing yourselves. I also suggest you remember to check your emails you are sending out, as there are some panel members names and emails, conversations and comments, at the bottom of the email trail.
If locals know these candidates, as you say, then surely they would be recommending each of them, as forward thinking, positive people, who have taken the time out of their busy lives to put their hands up and their names forward for Council nomination. This means they are willing to put an effort into helping the Taupo District to improve. Obviously your group is focussing only on the negative, from your content on your website and none of you are putting yourselves forward to find a solution, for the Taupo District, unlike all the standing Council candidates.
It makes me laugh, to see you are stating what you are doing, is democracy!!!! Democracy is people making their own minds up and not being bullied into voting for someone they don’t even know and are relying on the bad thoughts of someone else.
I take homage at the statement, on your website, Join The Revolution!!!!!
Revolution – a forcible overthrow of a government or social order, in favour of a new system – rebellion, revolt, insurrection, mutiny, uprising, riot, insurgency, coup, overthrow, seizure of power.
This is not how Local Body Politics is handled. All the above words describing a revolution are words used in bullying and not something any well intended person would want to be involved with.
Finally I will not be attending any of your meetings or answering your questions. I prefer to associate with well-intended, positive, forward-thinking winners who are trying to do the right thing for the Taupo District.
